Servo motor also known as electric motor, servo mechanism or servo system. A servo motor is a specialized motor designed for precise control of angular or linear position, speed, and torque. Unlike regular DC or AC motors, servo motors are equipped with a feedback mechanism that allows for accurate position control. This feedback system typically consists of a sensor for position feedback, such as an encoder or resolver, which is coupled with the motor. The servo motor works in conjunction with a controller that regulates its movement according to a desired setpoint. The primary principle behind a servo motor is its closed-loop feedback system. The controller sends a command signal to the motor to move to a specific position. The feedback device monitors the actual position and sends this information back to the controller. If there is any discrepancy between the desired and actual positions, the controller adjusts the motor's movement to correct the error. This continuous loop ensures high precision in motion control.
